Eligibility

• Assistant Commissioner: Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. B.Ed. from NCTE-recognized institute/University
• Principal: Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized institution/University. Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) with at least 50% marks from NCTE-recognized Institution/University. or a year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE-recognized institution/University with at least 50%
• Vice Principal: Master Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with atleast 50% marks from NCTE Recognized Institute/University or a Three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. with atleast 50% marks from any NCTE-recognized Institute/University
• Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs): Integrated Post Graduate Course from a NCTE-recognized institution/University, in the concerned subject, with at least 50% marks in aggregate including B.Ed. component.Master Degree from a recognized institution/University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the concerned subject. B.Ed. Degree from an NCTE-recognized institution/University with atleast 50% marks
• Primary Teachers (PRTs): Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary/Intermediate (CLASS XII) with 50% marks from a recognized board. Bachelor’s Degree in Music/Performing Arts from a recognized Institution/University, provided that the music subject is studied in all the years of the degree as the main subject.
• Qualifications vary by post (Teaching/Non-Teaching). For example, PGT requires Post Graduation with B.Ed., TGT requires Graduation with B.Ed., Special Educator requires Graduation with D.Ed./B.Ed. (Special Education), Administrative Officers require Graduation with experience, etc.
• Knowledge of Hindi & English is mandatory for most posts.
• Some posts require experience in residential schools.

Examination Pattern

• Tier-1: Preliminary (OMR Objective) Examination – General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Computer Literacy, Language (English & Regional) – Post-wise syllabus varies.
• Tier-2: Subject Knowledge Examination (Pen-Paper/OMR) – 2½ hours.
• Interviews / Skill Tests applicable for specific posts like Assistant Commissioner, Principal, PGT, Stenographers, Junior Secretariat Assistant, etc.
• Negative marking applies for wrong answers in both tiers.
