The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Teachers in the Government. Aided / Govt. Sponsored Primary / Junior Basic Schools across West Bengal. Eligible candidates can apply online from 9 November 2025 to 9 December 2025 through the official website wbbpe.org.

Application Fee
- General Category: Rs. 600/-
- OBC (A & B): Rs. 500/-
- SC / ST / EWS / PwD: Rs. 300/-
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
- Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (A & B), PwD, Ex-Servicemen, EC, and Para Teachers as per rules.
Eligibility
- Indian Citizen
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- OR Higher Secondary with 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- OR Higher Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- OR Higher Secondary with 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- OR Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Must have qualified Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by WBBPE as per NCTE norms.

- Madhyamik / Equivalent: 05 Marks
- Higher Secondary / Equivalent: 10 Marks
- Training (as per NCTE): 15 Marks
- Teacher Eligibility Test (TET): 05 Marks
- Extra-Curricular Activities: 05 Marks
- Viva-Voce / Interview: 05 Marks
- Aptitude Test / Teaching Experience (Para-Teacher): 05 Marks
